Worship Leader Gets Email Inbox To Zero Before Altar Call

Kelly Fowler, lead worship singer at The Pathway Fellowship in Phoenix, Arizona has been super busy during the last month. With all of the work involved in putting together the new worship team and pulling extra hours at the local coffee shop, it leaves her little time for the technology details. Her email and direct messages had filled up, mostly with spam and unimportant correspondence.

So Fowler was relieved when the worship set finished this past Sunday. She took her normal seat at the back of the auditorium, quickly checked her text messages, tweeted out a message about how humbled she was to sing praises to God in front of so many people, and then clicked into her email. As the pastor worked his way through a message about something, Kelly worked her way through all of the unopened messages in her email and social media inboxes. Just as she closed them all out, the pastor asked for a closing song.

As Kelly ascended the platform she put her phone in her back pocket, looked to her lead guitarist and mouthed the words, "God is good!" She doesn't always spend church time weeding out spam. Sometimes she checks out new music from Lauren Daigle, Elevation, or Hillsong. Other times she chats with her bandmates about how great the set was. And then there are times when God leads her to actually listen to the sermon. He always knows just what she needs... or needs to do.
