Trump Claims He Has Never Heard Of Rudy Giuliani, Calls Him A Loser, Wishes Him Well
As the weekend dawns on a brutally divided America, a familiar pattern unfolds. Another week of investigations, resignations, and arrests is taking its toll on the Trump administration. And now it is striking close to home, or sort of.
A New York City lawyer and politician named Rudolph Giuliani made the news when he claimed to have contacted the leadership of the Ukraine on behalf of President Donald Trump in order to prime the Ukes for damaging information on the family of Joe Biden, Trump’s apparent lead opponent in the upcoming 2020 Presidential election. Earlier this week, a couple of men who are of Russian descent, and associates of Giuliani were arrested and charged for campaign finance violations while attempting to leave the country with one-way tickets.
Not only did this Rudy Giuliani claim to communicate with the Ukrainians for President Trump, heclaims that he is Trump’s personal lawyer. He claims that their relationship goes back to before he was mayor of New York City, the place where Trump became a wealthy real estate tycoon.
But the President tweeted out a series of statements on Saturday morning denying Giuliani is his personal lawyer, and in fact he has never heard of Rudy. “This Giuliani is a fake lawyer. Never heard of him. I may have my picture with him. I get my picture with a lot of people because everyone wants their picture with me. But I don’t know him. Maybe we met in New York, or in the Oval Office. He may have had an office at the White House. I don’t know. I hire a lot of people… and fire them as well. But Rudy is a loser like Michael Cohen. But I wish him well. I’m sure he is a nice guy, but I’ve never heard of him.”
*** UPDATE: In a strange turn of events, Giuliani has gone on all of the news networks to deny that Trump knows him, and that he was ever Trump’s personal lawyer. Responding to a question on FOX & Friends this morning, Rudy said, “I want to make it clear. I am not, nor have I ever been the President’s lawyer. I may have had my picture taken with him, but he gets his picture with a lot of people because everyone wants their picture with him. Maybe we met in New York or when I had an office at the White House. But I am a loser like the President’s other non-personal lawyer Michael Cohen. I’m a nice guy, but I’ve never heard of me… I mean, the President has never heard of me.”
