Republicans Excited For Conservative Court To Overturn Conservative Decision That Legalized Abortion
As Donald Trump begins to load up the Supreme Court with conservative replacements for retiring justices, the right is very excited about future decisions. This is especially true when it comes to cases that could overturn abortion cases, including the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion in all 50 states.
Ironically, that decision was handed down by a conservative majority in 1973. Since then, Democrats and other liberals have been defending the conservative decision, and Republicans have been fighting it. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, and a key figure in the pro-life movement admits it is a strange situation. "Well, it is more than a little embarrassing that we gave the left such a gift when our own people legalized abortion. Now they are championing our Roe. And we are attacking our Roe. It is a weird world indeed. But gratefully now we have a chance to once and for all have a 'do over'... albeit 60 million aborted babies later."
Barrack Obama recently said, "If they had let me appoint another judge to replace Justice Scalia, we could have secured the Republican decision for a long time. But no... they would rather have their justices overturn what is arguably their most famous decision ever."
