Netflix Addict Browses Bible For 60 Seconds Only To Find Nothing To Read

Tim Fisher is a self-proclaimed Netflix addict. It isn't just Netflix. He has Hulu, Amazon Prime, and several other movie streaming services. But as with all addictions, too much is never enough. For the first two years that he had these online movie options, he enjoyed them. Sometimes he would binge watch his favorite TV shows for days at a time. Then he started binge watching TV shows he hated.

Now it is not unusual for Tim to browse the movie catalog for a couple of hours trying to find something that he will enjoy. It rarely happens. Instead, he has made a hobby of browsing titles and reading the synopsis.

He began to feel that there was a better way to spend his time. So he turned to something that would build him up spiritually. Earlier this week he started reading his Bible. But as he isn't sure exactly what part he wants to read, he browses to see what catches his attention. Most nights he browses for about 60 seconds, and can't find anything he will enjoy, so he puts his Bible aside and goes back to Netflix.

Some readers may find it sad that he only browses the Bible for 60 seconds each night. However, studies show that he is actually ahead of the American Christian average, which is about 60 seconds per week. In fact, Fisher says that when his pastor heard that he was spending a minute a day in the Word, he asked him if he would be interested in leading a small group.
