Imprisoned Chinese Pastor Calls For Nationwide Prayer For Persecuted Americans

In a prison cell in Beijing, a Christian pastor is penning a letter calling for the Chinese underground Church to band together in praying for American Christians who are being persecuted this holiday season by cashiers who do not say, “Merry Christmas.”

‘Pastor X’ writes, “It is that time of year when a wave of persecution spreads across the retail landscape of America. In Dollar Generals and jewelry stores everywhere, as Christians are buying things they can’t afford for people they don’t like, they are accosted with brutal attacks of ‘Happy Holidays’ and ‘Seasons Greetings’. Not ‘Merry Christmas’. Thankfully their long awaited political Messiah, Donald Trump has promised to change all that. But there are still pockets of persecution where public schools will not include a Christian song in their ‘Winter Program.’ So I call on my Chinese Christian brethren to stop what you are doing and pray together at noon every day, from now until Christmas. Whether you are in hiding with your family, or in court for sharing your faith, or prison for pastoring your church, please do not become so self-focused that you forget American shoppers during this time. And remember, our efforts to survive are not more important than their consumer comfort.”
