Bethel, Elevation, Hillsong In Running To Lead Worship At Marriage Supper Of The Lamb
The International Worship House Institute (IWHI) has announced the three finalists in the running to lead worship at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb event in Heaven. The announcement comes as the world is becoming more chaotic than usual, and demand for worship team product is on the rise. This means the event date should be close.
Jerry Loew, chairman of IWHI said there was a list of about 20 popular music teams who were in the running for the prestigious honor of leading worship at what is being called by most in the industry 'the music event of all events.' "Common worship leader names like Laura Story, Chris Tomlin, and Lauren Daigle were certainly in the mix. But obviously at the high point of eternity we need to have not just star power, but strong star power. And that comes through a well known group. I think any one of the three finalists would do a fantastic job at the greatest feast with Jesus Himself present."
Representatives for all three groups basically had the same response. Susan Gabriel of Hillsong said, "It is obviously a great honor, and we are humbled to be considered among the best worship bands in the world. And we would be thrilled to have such a stage. We still have to look at the contract and see if the venue and merch space would meet our requirements, but I'm sure we will be able to come to terms. Our graphic team is already designing shirts for the event. It is a wedding. And there are so many product options when it is the greatest wedding ever."
Allen Falsworth with Elevation added, "It feels like our band has been preparing for this type of pressure situation for several years. They've had some #1 albums, and even debuted at #23 on Billboard Top 200 a few years ago. And hey... if you can lead worship before Pastor Furtick preaches, then leading worship at a wedding reception should be a piece of cake, right?!?"
A Hillsong representative made sure to note that no matter which band wins the event, at some point during the concert, they will invite the other two up on stage to do a medley. "It would be epic, don't you think?"
With the Marriage Supper of the Lamb date unknown at the moment, all three bands, while pleased to be considered have stated that their acceptance of the gig is subject to their availability. Fans can vote by calling in during this year's Dove Awards.
