Attorney General Jeff Sessions Blindsided By His Own Resignation
The ink on the midterm ballots had barely dried when Attorney General Jeff Sessions received a resignation letter on his desk. As he slowly read the letter he wondered who wrote it. Then he saw his name at the bottom and fell back into his office chair. Sessions gave Unverified Source an exclusive interview the day he found out that he had resigned.
“I’ll admit… I never saw it coming. You’d think you would know, you know? After I read the resignation letter that had been left on my desk, I typed it up onto official letterhead. It was strange being resigned. Of course, I’m not totally disappointed. Just shocked at the timing of my resignation. It’s like… one day you are on ‘The Apprentice - White House Edition’, and the next day you are fired… But Trump doesn’t point his finger at you and say, ‘You’re Fired!’ Instead, he puts a letter on your desk that says, ‘You’ve resigned!’”
Asked if he had any clue that the resignation might be coming his way, Sessions replied, “Well, as I typed up the official document, I did remember seeing it somewhere before. It was in our welcome packet when we signed on with the President. Everyone got one. James Comey got one. Nikki Haley got one. Michael Cohen got one. Remember, Rex Tillerson found out about his resignation via Twitter. But he knew it was coming from day one if he opened his ‘Welcome Packet.’ I know for a fact that Melania got one years ago, as did all of his wives. I’ll guarantee you the whole team is looking at their packet right now wondering if today is the day they will be resigned.”
