Pictures Showing Jesus With Trump May Have Been Photoshopped
You've probably seen them on your Facebook feed. Your Republican friends probably shared them. They were going pretty strong toward the end of the 2016 election campaign, and even continue today. They basically show Jesus endorsing Trump or supporting him in some way. One has Jesus guiding Trump's hand as he signs a bill. Another shows Jesus with his suitcases 'heading back to the White House', apparently after having been evicted for 8 years by the Obama administration. But, as with many posts on the internet, there seems to be a problem with the photos.
In a memo sent from the angel Gabriel to all church leaders, Heaven's Department of Misappropriation claims that these pictures are not authentic. "Jesus doesn't even carry suitcases. And He really dislikes being co-opted by American political parties in order to demonstrate approval for things He would never approve."
Gabriel wen on to say that photoshop does not prove divine activity. "Our objection to these pictures, and the associated memes does not mean that Jesus does not love Trump. I mean, Jesus sacrificed His own life for Donald Trump. Our denial of the authenticity of these pictures does not mean that Jesus won't offer wisdom along with the responsibility that He has placed on the President. And yes, Jesus will use Trump for eternal purposes, whether or not the President is yielded to Him, just as He has done with every leader in history... EVERY. LEADER."
There was no word in the memo of what sort of action will be taken on those who keep sharing these fake pics on social media. But it appears that some are not going to heed the communique. In a statement released today, Jerry Falwell, Jr., President of Liberty University accused Gabriel of being a 'Trump hater' and suggested the angel "probably voted for Hillary." Rev. Franklin Graham agreed, adding that, "Trump needs our support and prayers, not our criticism."
